Overview
Imported lists enable you to upload customer lists from external sources—such as recall data, OEM lists, purchased leads, or any other external customer data—into the Fullpath CDP. Once uploaded, the CDP uses generative AI to match your customer data fields to the Fullpath Shopper data structure. Imported customer lists become Fullpath CDP Shoppers and can be activated in any engagement channels and products active on your account.

Import Process Overview
Importing a list into the CDP involves four key steps. The system leverages generative AI to automatically match your CSV columns to Fullpath's Shopper data structure. Here's what to expect:
Import Steps:
- Step 1: Upload or drag and drop your CSV file
- Step 2: Name the list (internal use only)
- Step 3: Match column labels and validate shopper details
- Step 4: Complete the upload
Step 1 — Upload Your CSV File
Begin by uploading your customer data file. You can either click to browse and select your CSV file or drag and drop it into the upload area. The file must be in CSV format and contain at least 2 columns with recognizable customer data fields.
Step 2 — Name Your List
After uploading, assign a name to your list. This name is for internal use only and helps you identify the list in your dashboard. Choose a descriptive name that reflects the source or purpose of the data (e.g., "OEM Recall List - March 2026" or "Purchased Lead List - Q2").
Step 3 — Match Columns & Validate Data
The Fullpath system will auto-detect and suggest matches for your CSV columns to Fullpath Shopper fields. Review each column match and adjust as needed. This step ensures your customer data maps correctly to our database structure.
Column Matching
The system presents each CSV column and allows you to select which Fullpath field it corresponds to. For example, a column labeled "customer_first" would be matched to First Name, or "mobile" would be matched to Cell Phone. You can also leave a column unmatched if it contains data not relevant to your import.
Automatic Field Processing
The system applies the following automatic transformations during the matching process:
- Full Name Parsing: If you upload a full name column, it is automatically split into "first name" and "last name" fields
- Middle Names: When a shopper has a middle name, it is automatically joined with the first name
- Name Column Redundancy: If you upload three name columns (full name, first name, and last name), only the first and last name columns will be used
Step 4 — Complete the Upload
Once all columns are matched and validated, click Complete Upload to finalize the import. The system will process your list and begin identity resolution and matching against existing Shoppers in your CDP. The list will appear in your Imported Lists dashboard, and you can use it immediately to build audiences and activate campaigns.

Important Conditions & Best Practices
Upload Requirements
- Must contain at least 2 columns
- Must include at least 2 identifiers: Name and either phone number or email
- Supports up to 10,000 records per upload
- Very large uploads (70,000–100,000 records) can remain in "Calculating" status for up to 24 hours
Matching Requirements
- Must have at least 2 columns matched with Fullpath field names
- Any column marked in red after edits or adjustments will not be included in the upload
Engagement Preference Format
The Do Not Email, Do Not Call, Do Not Mail, and Do Not Text fields must be in true / false format for proper mapping. For example, if do_not_text = true, SMS engagement will not be allowed for that shopper.
Recommended: 24-Hour Delay Before Activation
It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours after uploading before using audiences built from imported lists. This allows the system to complete identity merges and resolution, ensuring the most accurate and up-to-date data is available for each shopper.
Using Imported Lists in Audiences
Once your list is successfully uploaded and processed, you can use it as the foundation for building audiences. In the Audience Builder, navigate to the Customer Source section and select your imported list as the starting point. You can then layer additional filters on top of your imported list to further refine your audience before activation.
