The Policy Change
Starting July 1, 2021 Gmail ads campaigns will become “read only”. This means that after this date, advertisers will not be able to create new Gmail campaigns or make changes to existing Gmail campaigns, including edits to existing Gmail ads. You can read more about this policy change here.
Google Recommendation
To continue serving ads on Gmail, Google recommends that you create Discovery campaigns. Discovery ads allow you to expand your reach from Gmail to other Google owned surfaces, including YouTube and Discover, reaching 3 billion people globally.
How Does This Impact Fullpath?
Per Googles recommendations and best practices, starting in Q2 (2021) we will begin rolling back support for Gmail ads and implement Discovery Campaigns within Fullpath. We will publish more details and let our customers know before the time this is implemented however, as will all system level changes, no action will be required from our customers and all changes will be implemented automatically, across all relevant accounts.
